What is the difference between a nikon FM camera with a vintage lense and a nikon dslr camera with the same mm lense? Which do you prefer and which do you recommend for beginning or just in general. Also the quality of the pictures.

The FM is a film camera. I can't imagine anyone who would want to use a 35mm film camera these days.
A DSLR is a digital camera designed to work like a SLR, but uses a digital sensor instead of film. Digital is so much more convenient these days. Quality is great.
