Nikon SLR Cameras

What is better for nature? Nikon or Fujifilm?

I mostly take pictures of landscapes and insects (macros). What camera can I get the best quality for doing both of those things? I'm willing to pay more for a long term quality camera.

Best would be a DSLR like the Nikon D7000 or D5100.
The Nikon 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Lens would be good for insects.
The Nikon Telephoto AF Micro Nikkor 200mm f/4.0D ED-IF could be even better. The 200mm requires a D7000 to autofocus. It won't autofocus with a D5100.

It depends on your budget, the idea of a DSLR is that you buy extra lenses to use in different situations and most of the time the lenses will be more expensive than the actual camera.

Fujifilm no longer manufacture DSLRs, they make bridge cameras, compact cameras or mirrorless cameras. A Fuji bridge camera would be ideal if you didn't want to spend a lot of money.

If you got a Nikon DSLR you'd have to look into buying telephoto lenses with fast focusing speeds to capture nature/wildlife then you'd need wide angle lenses for landscapes and macro lenses for insects. You could easily spend $15, 000 on a Nikon DSLR system including lenses to do everything you want.

With a bridge camera, it's like a jack of all trades but an expert at nothing. It will be good for most things once you're in good light like outdoors. It wouldn't be very good in low light situations indoors.
