What is a nikon ur-e12?

My uncle just gave me a nikon camera for my birthday. What does it do? It came with this HUGE attachment or something. Like, is it a special type of camera or just a regular camera?

This converter tube doesn't do much by itself. It is meant to mount a fisheye lens (Nikon FC-E9) specifically designed for the tube.
Unless you actually plan to go find that lens for sale, the tube is just cruft.
