Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens vs Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon D90?
I'm pretty new to this field.
Which one do you suggest to buy for my Nikon D90? I want it used for indoor photography.
Depends on which focal length you need.
The 50 mm f 1.8 will give you a bit narrower view. So indoor, you might be too "tight".
Try the focal lengths with your kit lens - which one do you find to be more useful?
The 50mm one is good for portraits, the 35mm for indoor group shots. The 35mm one also is a bit more low light capable as you can get away with longer shutter speeds when you use it.
I own both and prefer the 50mm lens, but that's just me.
The 35mm lens would be an excellent choice. If you are already comtemplating spending thousands of dollars on camera gear then an inexpensive lens would make no difference anyway as you can sell it easy enough. If you are not the shopaholic type person then shoot the D90.It is perfectly capable of high level professional photography.
