What is 3D feature in camera?

Nikon s9400 takes 3d images while nikon l830 lacks the feature. Would someone explain?

3D images are photos that are taken from a slightly different view so that when they are combined, they are given depth (the third dimension - 3D). Some cameras will do this upon command, others do not. None of mine do. Maybe an article about 3D photography will help.
