The Nikon lenses specifically for digital are designated DX lenses. DX lenses are only for APS-C sensors even though they can be put on FX and 35mm SLRs while the digital FX is in crop mode. If they are put on 35mm film cameras they will cause vignetting. The mount is the same however.
