What are some nice digital cameras that I can buy?

I really want the Nikon 1 camera but there's no way I can buy that, and it is way to expensive!
I have a few questions:
Will the Nikon 1 camers price ever drop down, and if so what will the price be?
What are some other good looking camers and good quality should i get?
NOT TOO EXPENSIVE THOUGH!

The Nikon 1 system has only been out a few months.

Don't look for any price reductions until the new version is introduced in from 18 to 24 months from then

I would be careful on buying a new body and lens system that is not market proven yet. If Nikon does not sell enough bodies they will trashcan it quick enough and move on. The new lens mount system is preparatory to ONLY that body. If Nikon stops making it I doubt other manufactures will make lenses for it either. It will just whither and die…

The Nikon F mount is here for ever and I can use some of my old good Nikkor lenses from the 60's on my digital bodies today, and on new cameras in the future. My 800 is on order.

Nikon one kinda stinks… Very small sensor and bad in lowlight. If you are fixed on getting a mirrorless camera, try a Sony NEX model, they have aps-c sized sensors.

APS-C sensor = great in lowlight!
