What are some good polarized filters for my 35, 50, and 70-300 Nikon lenses?

I was checking out HOYA filters but they do not have any in that size. What are some good brands for lens filters? Also, besides a polarized filter, what else would be a good purchase as far as filters go?

Buy 77mm filters and use 77mm step-up rings.

HOYA, B&W, Tiffen etc all make great filters.

In what size? Filters are made for the diameter of the thread on the end of the barrel, and not for specific lenses (usually). The diameter of that thread is usually marked somewhere on the lens with the "Ø" symbol.

As has already been mentioned step-up rings would allow you to use just a single size of filter across multiple lenses, but they tend to mean that your lens hood no longer fits. That added layer of glass makes the case for using the lens hood more necessary than ever! So if you do go down that route you may want to consider going up a couple of extra sizes and then adding on a rubber lens hood.

Good filter purchases - what ever you are going to use. It's only in the last year that I've stopped using a "skylight" filter as a lens protector, you really don't need one of these to protect against UV light. So after that you are looking at and Filters to allow creative use of wide apertures and fast shutter speeds even in bright light. Solid color filters that act as a partial and filter while only allowing certain colors through. Finally Graduated filters (and and color), again to enhance tints or just reduce brightness in a part of the image. Anything else is probably better done in software after the event!

Be sure to buy circular polarizing filters, not linear polarizing filters. Linear polarizers will not work with the phase detect autofocus on your camera.
