What are some good Nikon lenses for landscape photography?
What are some good Nikon lenses for landscape photography?
Interesting question. I also want to know the answers. I can sure guarantee that a Nikkor 50mm f1.8 isn't good for landscapes. I went to visit the graveyard yesterday and I took this lens with me and man it sucks for landscapes. My kit lens do a much better job. I think the best lenses for landscapes are those that start at 18mm or less, I have a guess that the Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G is perfect for landscapes, but let's wait for the answers. I'm not any expert in landscape photography. My next purchase will also be a nice landscape lens.
I use a Nikkor 12-24 mm wide angle zoom on my APS-C sensors
Sample using a technique of combining three overlapping images to make a panoramic image.

While I used a 12 mm wide angle lens, by merging those three images, I was able to increase the field of view.
If you still need to save your pennies before you can buy a Nikkor 10-24 mm or 12-24 mm wide angle lens, you can shoot using your 18-55 mm lens set at 18 mm and shoot overlapping shots.
