What are some good affordable cameras? (under $200)?
Preferably not even $200, but that's my cap. I've had two digital cameras in the past, and both of them just did NOT cut it at all for me! They were both under or around $100 though (they might have been on sale though) One of them was a Nikon and the other was a Kodak and I found that they took really orange looking pictures indoors and overexposed pictures outside. The quality of the pictures just was not impressive in any way. I'm in a photography class and I use someone else's camera because I hate mine. I Really want a photography camera (ya know, one of those bulky black ones with the huge lenses) Not only do they look 10x cooler, but I feel like they probably take better pictures.
I've NEVER been able to take good pictures and so I want a cool camera to inspire me to really take some awesome pictures in photography class and to start scrapbooking. I've always wanted to be that person always carrying their camera around and taking funky pictures but I just can't find a good camera for a good price!
Affordable yes… Good well that's questionable.
You see good quality starts at about $550 and goes up to great at about $4, 500. Medium quality goes down to about $250 and below that the quality is questionable.
The reason I say that is quality equipment will last a long time. However poor quality gear will last about as long as its warranty - 1 year. So when, not if, it quits and breaks, like an old cell phone, you trash and replace.
I use a Canon Power Shot 2300 and it works well. I got mine on sale for $80 but I believe full price is only like $120.It has a metal tripod stand which was a must for me. It also has 16 MP. The down side is you have to wait 5 sec between pictures and night time pictures do not come out(unless you manually turn the camera to the correct setting). On very important pictures I always take more then one in case one doesn't come out. Is it the best all time camera? No of course not but it was the best I could afford. It might be what you are looking for.
I'm not sure if you will find what you are looking for in your budget but wish you the best of luck. You might want to try eBay and shop for a quality used camera.
