Viewfinders on camaras, which is best?
What is/are the differences then between the 'eye-level pentamirror version and the evf?
Can anyone explain?
Sony a6000 or nikon d5300… Which would you choose?
My choice is the Sony, as it is lighter.
The specs on both seem ideal for a non professional.
I'd go for the Pentax K-500 with its Pentaprism viewfinder - which is brighter than the Nikon's Pentamirror and less vulnerable to damage,
Budget DSLRs use pentamirrors, because they're cheaper than pentaprisms, despite being inferior.
Either will blow an EVF out of the water, because you're looking through the lens, directly at your subject, not looking at a TV screen which has to be refreshed every so often, and takes time to adjust (OK, the difference is in microseconds, but it can make the difference on whether or not you get that crucial shot).
The best electronic viewfinder in the world (to be fair, your Sony is pretty close) can't match the efficiency and simplicity of an optical viewfinder, and that's why I'd opt for a DSLR every time.
Nope go for Nikon or Canon, Sony is worst as my experience.
Talking about viewfinder evf is best. As it zooms in/out according to your focus
