How do I turn the af illuminator off of the nikon d7100?

I tried going to menu and in settings. Not really sure.

The other answers are good… Simplest way… Switch to manual focus.

Open the Custom Setting Menu, the one with the pencil icon. Look for a: Autofocus option a7.

Menu > Custom Settings Menu > a7 Built-in AF-assist illuminator
