Is a camera safe if you don't turn it off while changing your lens? Nikon d7000?
Someone was checking my cam removing the lens a couple of times without even turning it off.
Yes, it's safe.
Yes. I do it all the time. That's how I interpret interchangeable lens mount. You should be able to do it mid-shoot anytime anywhere at the flicker of a moment.
Err… But I'm using Pentax. You have a technologically advanced Nikon.

Ooops! Page 48 of my Pentax K-x manual says in bold letters, "1 Check that the camera is turned off".
Yikes! Old habits die hard. I hope the camera can continue to take it. I have only one digital lens though which I hardly use. The rest are all manual film lenses which I keep interchanging. Hmm… That may be a contributing factor for the absence of a violent reaction.
Good question. Learned something new today. Time to put it in the blog.
They are electronic devices, and to me it is better to be safe than sorry.
Although my manual doesn't specify, I always turn the camera off when swapping lenses. The camera and lens communicate with one another. By turning the camera on after a swap, it causes the camera and lens to synch with one another.
So why would you even let someone else handle your D7000 - obviously you either don't care about your gear or…
