Transferring photos?
How do I transfer photos from a Nikon camera to my IPhone with a laptop.
Put the camera's card in a USB card reader and then simply use Finder (or Windows Explorer) to locate the card in its directory. Photos are usually in the DCIM folder. Simply copy and paste content to the laptop. Now use iTunes (latest version) and 'synch' the photos you want to copy.
Connect the camera's memory card directly to the laptop using a USB card reader. Copy the pictures to a folder in the laptop's hard drive using Windows Explorer or (Mac) Finder. With the laptop, start your internet browser and log-in to your iCloud account. Upload your pictures to your iCloud account. Access your iCloud account from your iPhone to see your pictures.
You need to use Wi-Fi, providing that your Nikon has it. Nikon makes dozens of models, not all of them has Wi-Fi. Read your owner's manual to find out if your model has Wi-Fi, and then do a search on YouTube on using the Wi-Fi for your specific model. Each camera is different, so not knowing which one you have makes it impossible to provide specific details.
For now, you can download the photos to your computer, and then with your phone connected to the computer just copy and paste the photos to your phone.
Take out the SD card and transfer the files to your laptop using the laptop's memory card reader. If it doesn't have a card reader, you can buy a USB card reader from Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc. For less than $20.
Once the files are on your laptop, use a great little Apple app called Transfer Pro to wirelessly do the transfer to your iPhone. You need to be near an existing Wi-Fi network for it to work. If you are not near a Wi-Fi network, you'll need to transfer the files using iTunes on your laptop and a USB cable between the laptop and iPhone.
