Thoughts on the Nikon D1500?

I know it has the same Sony-made sensor that is in my NEX-6. This sensor performs stunningly in low light. I know it's also got rave reviews from users of other cameras that it's used in. Combined with Nikon lenses, I can't imagine it would be anything other than great.

The Pentax K-r uses the same sensor at a lower price - it also meters with MF lenses, gives autofocus with any AF lens and has VR built into the body - not the lens.
Having said that, the D5100 isn't bad, as long as you remember the disadvantages I've mentioned.

I think you mean D5100? I have a D7000 and its an excellent camera. Same sensor just more pro.
