Some photography tips?

I'm 16, I plan on going into photography as my profession. Please do not comment on quality, I just use a 12 mega pixel sanyo digital camera in the mean time until I can get a more professional Nikon or Cannon. So I know that my pictures may not have the best quality out there right now.
Anyways, here are my four favorite pictures I have taken:

So does any one have tips so I can keep improving? I have improved A LOT this past year (since january of 2010) and I just want to keep improving. I plan on printing and framing these four to put on my wall. Would they be good for a portfolio too?

So yes, just tips please on how to be an even better photographer.

Yes.

1) Lay off the heavy editing.

2) Compose to the rule of thirds, or at least get the subject out of the middle of the frame.

My standard advice to those wanting to improve is to read Bryan Peterson's book "Understanding Exposure." Its specifically written for beginners who are ready to move their work up to the next level. Its almost like a how-to manual, rather than a general photography book.

I would add that you seem to be making an error regarding your camera and photo quality. Good equipment is certainly important, but its the skill of the photographer which makes the real difference The camera companies love it when people think that a better (ie: more expensive!) camera will automatically make them better photographers. You are wise to understand that education and experience are key factors.
