Specifically Nikon or canon, I need a camera that's small, it's my first time buying a legit camera and I go to concerts a lot so I wanted to start getting good quality photos, and to where you can hear the sound good x

It is really tough to find a good camera in Nikon or Canon which is small in size. My suggestion for you is Nikon D3100 because it has a proper rubber grip, rather than the rubberized coating which helps you to grip this camera easily. It has many upgraded features which provide great quality pictures and videos as well. There's no doubt that the D3100 is one of the best entry-level SLRs available, offering very good image quality coupled with speedy operation and straightforward handling at least for conventional eye-level use. The D3100's movies are really rather good, with smooth motion and impressively low noise in dim light. The below mentioned link will help you to decide about this great camera

It has 14.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor with 3-inch monitor with One-Touch Live View shooting and movie capture. It also includes 3x 18-55mm Zoom-NIKKOR VR Image Stabilization lens. It has Full 1080p HD Cinematic Video with full-time autofocus and sound, Easy-To-Use Nikon Guide Mode with intuitive controls and on-board assistance and it capture images to SD/SDHC/
SDXC memory cards.

You will have to settle for a good compact camera or a bridge camera. Most places don't allow concert goers to bring a slr or anything that has interchangeable lenses in. Look into digital cameras that have an optical zoom. Nikon coolpix or fujifilm finepix something like that.

Here's one taken with a small camera from about 150 feet away.
