Should I bring my DSLR to Europe?
I have a Nikon 5100 with a medium size telephoto lens. I'm visiting Italy, Greece, and Turkey. Should I bring it along or will it be a huge pain to carry around? I really want amazing pictures, but I also don't want to lose, damage, or have it stolen.
Having a good camera to document your adventures is important because life is fleeting and as much as we would all like to think that we can always come back to someplace we've traveled but there are no guarantees that the opportunity will present itself again. I've always taken photos on trips I've taken and am able to use photos to illustrate activities when I talk to friends about trips.
The photos you take will bring back memories of the people and places you encounter, even if you never get a chance to return. Just be cognizant of you surroundings and photograph away!
What did you get a good camera for if not to photograph the exciting places you go and things you do? I alsway take at least a couple of good cameras where ever I go including a good camera like your DSLR and a camera I can carry in my pocket. Do take normal care of the camera - be aware of your surroundings and don't set it down on a table, park bench or the like. I lived in Italy for the last 13 years and traveled throughout Italy and the rest of Europe most weekends and holidays without ever having a camera lost, stolen or damaged.
Very good to bring one
