Reasonable price for Nikon 50mm f1:1.8 Series E lens? - 1
I've just snapped up an offer for €60 but looking at that same similar product elsewhere they seem to go for a little less than that. Will I be paying more than what it's worth if I decide to proceed with the transaction? How much would you pay for a lens like that?
I wouldn't pay more than $60 Canadian for such a lens. Aside from the fact it's an old, manual-focus only lens that won't work with current Nikon bodies under $1300, it's also a Series E lens, which was inferior to the 'real' Nikkor lens back then because it's made out of plastic.
For 60 Euros, you might as well look for a used AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D instead.
That would be an extremely low price if you were in the Philippines.
I don't know when the_camera_guy was last active on the european market but a used 50mm f1.8 AF is more likely to fetch 80-100 euros than 60,
Anyway, back to the questoin, yes that';s a bit much. The E series is common as muck, for a good used one I'd pay 40-50, for 60 we're getting into the territory when you'd want to see a box and original paperwork
