Recommend a camera for me? Preferences inside?

I'm not looking for a super expensive camera.
I'm looking to purchase one through amazon.
I do not need all the fancy features- what I want most in a camera is that the macro and quality are outstanding- I don't care about effects like different lenses and stuff.
I don't really want a little camera that people use for family pictures, I want more of an SLR-looking one. I had the canon powershot which was good but it broke later on. I want one that is long lasting. I'm leaning toward Nikon since my nikons last 10x longer
