Photography ideas and weird tricks?

I LOVE photography and I just got a new DSLR Nikon 3100.It's great, but I'm having some photographers block and don't know what I can take pictures of at the moment. I've taken photos of almost everything you can think of around where I live, so new ideas are hard to come by.

I'm looking to see if anyone has any cool tips or tricks they can tell me about taking weird photographs, such as long exposures or freeze times. If anyone has come up with some unusual styles of photography I would LOVE to hear them! Thanks!

Added (1). I'm pretty sure there just isn't anything interesting to shoot where i live…

Please I only want to know if anyone has any cool tips or tricks they think are cool.

My favorite thing to do is play with depth of field and angles. Take a walk. Inspiration will come.

Explore some of the great photographers of our time. This way you will feel sorry about what you had just said and feel empty and hungry for the photos. It is not just there's nothing interesting to shoot but it is the fail to see them.start with http://www.magnumphotos.com/

For interesting effects, try light trails. Position the camera on a tripod where you will see passing cars in the evening with their lights on. Use a long shutter speed to create light trails.

You can also use a slow shutter speed and hold a light in your hand in front of the camera. It's called light writing and you wave the light or write with it like you would a sparkler.

Try panning. With panning you also use a long shutter speed and you track a moving object with the camera. If done correctly the subject is mostly in focus and the background is a blur.

Another long, or slow, shutter speed trick is motion blur. Find moving water and the long shutter speed will make it look almost like fog or smoke.

And finally, try using a long shutter speed and zooming while the shutter is open. It's a really cool looking effect.

Remember that when you use a long shutter speed you must use a tripod or you'll just get one big mess of a blur. The one exception might be panning and depends on how steady your hand is. Look up the techniques for more tips on how to do them.

I'm a very amateur photographer at the moment so i can't tell you much about the technicalities such as long exposures or freeze times, but it sounds like you already know about them anyway, so lets talk inspiration!

my best source of inspiration is my playlist.write down all your favourite songs and really explore them. What does the title mean, what it the message trying to convey are there any little hidden meanings in it, any really nice lines? Play with these a bit then figure out the technicalities of a perfect shot.
