I have done some photography in the past but I just use regular cameras. I really want a good photography camera. Nikon or Canon or Sony. Many people say Canon is better or Nikon is.
My budget is somewhere less than a thousand dollars, but if its a good camera i will go buy it for a higher price. I just need a Really GOOD photography camera.
I don't know which one to buy, so many options.

Definitely go with a Canon, they're the best. :3

It depends which one you're more comfortable with! I've personally used Nikon products for a long time now and can say they have never let me down!
If you're a modest(ish) beginner I'd look into the Nikon d3100 or D5100. (these range from about 650 to 950$) I adore my D5000 and I look into purchasing a D90 soon.
Canon and Sony are definitely great systems too, I just happen to be a fan of Nikon's structure and performance
Go test them out! See how they feel in your hands and how well they work!

Despite what you may think, Canon and Nikon have very little differences with them. Both feature great camera systems that is accessible to anyone.
Most people like to 'claim' that one is better than the other because they are more familliar with one over the other. It is like wearing the same old jeans for 10 years. It is comfortable and familiar. When given a new pair or jeans (like another camera brand), it is weird and you think it is uncomfortable and you really miss those old jeans. More often than not, there's no difference between the two.

Canon 550D
Nikon D3100
Will offer you every thing you need to get started with some serious photography. These are excellent cameras that allow you to really take control over your photos. You should start with the supplied kit. Use that to learn about your camera. Read the manual. Once you've become your familar with the system, you are pretty much stuck in the Canon camp or Nikon camp. And you'll become one of those people who says "canon is better than nikon" or vice versa.

They also feature a tons of options if you choose to take it more seriously and upgrade. If you are satisfied with the basic kit, thumbs up and have fun! Don't let any gear snobs talk you down.

An SLR camera will be good. They are regular cameras (maybe you meant you have a "point and shoot" camera).

Those are all good brands. Do some research and choose the ones that have the features you like.
