Old SLR Camera Issue?
Recently my friend gave me one of his old 35mm Film SLR cameras that he never used. The lens on the camera is an M42 or 42mm thread mount. Turns out the aperture blades in the lens that came with it are broken/twisted and out of place. I was just wondering, is it possible to mount an F-Mount lens from my Nikon DSLR onto an old SLR with any sort of an adapter?
Thanks for your time!
Added (1). ** The camera has a 42mm screw mount on the body!
Is this "Old SLR" a Nikon camera?
If it is Nikon then you should be able to.
M42 was a common thread in the 60s and part of the 70s. I know there used to be adapters to mount nikon on these bodies but can't seem to find one. You could contact any of the better shops and ask.
Approaching it from the other direction, m42 lenses are extremely cheap on ebay
Yes, there are many T-mount adapters you can use to mount lenses. I use an old Vivitar with a Pentax mount on my Canon EF mount camera using an adapter.
No. Thread mount and the NIkon SLR mount are different. I have thread mount cameras - the Nikon stuff will NOT fit without some kind of an adapter and there might not even be an adapter.
Btw: WHICH camera?
