Nikon vs Sony: camera Qu?
I'm getting a camera and was wondering what the pros and cons were to a nikon and a sony brand?

Are you asking about P&S cameras or dSLR/SLT cameras?
If you shoot action, a camera like Nikon makes have optical viewfinders, so what you see is what you get in real time. Sony SLT cameras use an electronic viewfinder, so there's some lag between what the sensor sees and the viewfinder sees. This can be problematic if you are shooting sports or other action subjects.
Sony is known for producing the best video, but in reality, an actual video camera performs best.
One big pro for the Nikon dSLR cameras is how well the sensors perform overall and especially in low light.
Both are quality brands. It really comes down to personal taste. And my Nikons really taste good.
I would go for Sony with all the advantages of the SLT design
