Nikon J1 Lens Problem?
So some info about my camera. I have a Nikon J1 along with 3 lenses: 10 lens, 30-10 lens, and 110-30 lens. I have had my camera for a little over a year and I have never dropped it so it shouldn't malfunction.
So there's a focusing problem I have found with my 30-10 lens. This started happening on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013. When I extend my lens to 10 and then turn it on it seems to work fine while focusing. I know that it is focusing because the picture kind of moves in and out so it looks like it's doing its best in focusing.
However, when I extend my lens to 14, 18, 24, or 30 and then turn it on it always says the message, "Lens error. Contact a Nikon-authorized service center." I notice that it won't take any effort to focus because the picture doesn't really move in and out. The problem seems only to be when I focus on anything beyond 10.
Another problem that I noticed that happens really really rarely is blacking out. When I turn on my camera (and remember this happens very very rarely), the screen blacks out and won't take a picture but will still show the box (it turns red so it doesn't focus). It seems as if the lens thinks it is seeing pure darkness and there's nothing to focus on. My only fix for this is turning it off and putting the lens cap back on and turning it on and repeating this over and over.
I know that it is only on this lens because when I try other lenses they all work fine so I know that it must be a problem in this lens in particular. I have tried carefully cleaning the lens contact because it did get a little dirty. I have also tried taking the camera battery out and putting it back in along with taking the lens out and putting it back in. I know that no water or any fluids got into the camera because since Tuesday I know that nothing spilled on it. I also don't think that anything could have jammed my camera. However, if so, how can you tell?

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for any and all recommendations. Just write below if you have any questions or need any clarifications. Thanks again!
P.S. I think that my camera is out of warranty so I don't know if I can send it back. Oh and I just traveled to Asia for a trip so maybe could the humidity have affected my camera in any way?
Added (1). Hi! Thank you for replying so quickly.
So I actually used a kleenex and 2 drops of water to clean the lens contact and I was careful enough to make sure that it touched nothing else. I also dried it immediately afterwards. I don't know about the warranty so I will look into that!
What did you use to clean your lens contacts with?
Incredibly, some people use/recommend rubbing alcohol, which is the worst thing you can use. Rubbing alcohol has only about 60~70% isopropyl alcohol, but also water, wintergreen and often lanolin (wax). The alcohol will clean the contacts, but the left over water and wax ends up coating the contacts with gunk.
If you want to clean the contacts, use 99% or better pure isopropyl alcohol - which is hard to find even at a pharmacy. This is what I use, and it is specifically made for electronics:

Also, don't be afraid to send the lens in to Nikon. While the camera warranty is typically one year, depending on your country, and if you registered the lens, it may have a 5yr warranty.
