Nikon FM2 Film rewind lever stuck?

I'm having an issue with my Nikon FM2. The little 'switch' next to the actual film rewind knob itself is very sticky. I can get it to move, but it is very sticky feeling. What can I do to alleviate this?

Sticky says something with sugar in it got spilled on your camera, like soda?

You can take it to a camera repair shop and have them clean it for you
