It sounds like you took the last shot on that roll of film. If it is a 24 exposure roll and the indicator is showing 24 or more (36 or more on a 36 exposure roll), then rewind and process the film.

If you have taken less shots than that, I would suggest you take the camera into an actual camera shop (NOT bestbuy/walmart/etcetera), for assistance.

When the film advance lever on a 35mm camera stops it usually means the final exposure has been taken and you have reached the end of the roll of film. You must then REWIND the film back into the film cartridge BEFORE opening up the camera and removing the film for processing. To do this you press the REWIND RELEASE BUTTON and then manually wind the film back into the canister. The Release Button is on the bottom of the camera near the battery compartment cover and the Rewind Crank is on the top left side of the camera (when holding it in shooting position).

Press the release and then flip open the crank and GENTLY rewind the film back into the canister. If it doesn't turn easily, press and hold the rewind button until you can get the crank to turn. Under no circumstances should you force the crank to turn if you meet strong resistance (you will meet slightly greater resistance after you have taken a number of turns on the crank, this is the film disengaging from the take up spool). Once the film is fully rewound you can open the camera and remove the film for processing. If you can't get the film to release STOP! Do not open the camera, take it to a camera specialty store and get help.

After removing the film the advance lever should function normally.

Hope that helps. Good luck. Email me if you have further questions (or read the manual) z
