1st, you'd need more power than a single battery can provide. I believe there's an A/C adapter, or there are aftermarket battery grips that may get it through the night with 2 batteries. Nikon does not do battery grips for the 3xxx/5xxx models.
There's a bulb mode, which leaves the shutter open until you tell it to close. There are devices made to make this easy, for a few bucks off Amazon/Ebay. The most common name is "timer remote". It is a cabled device, not wireless, although you can probably find one of those too. Using the remote, you either use bulb mode, or you just tell it to leave the shutter open for 8 hours or so.
