Nikon camera says memory contains no images?
I took some wedding pictures on Sunday, and my husband view them right after I took them. So we know the pictures were taken. But yesterday when I connected my camera to the computer. Only 5 pictures out of 60 were there. I deleted those and now I get "memory contains no images".
You are sort of out of luck
Had you copied all the images on the card to your computer using a card reader to a new file folder named for the event/subject and date, you may have had all 60 images arrive on your computer
As it stands, you deleted images from the card which in many cases can corrupt the card, especially if that is your typical workflow.
All you can do now is STOP using that card (use one of your others) and download a free image recovery program and attempt to recover all the corrupted images on that card.
Transcend publishes a program called RecoveRx and it is free.
Using your card reader, run RecoveRx and see what images can be recovered.
In the future always to this:
* at the end of each shooting day, remove the memory card from your computer and insert in into a card reader.
* copy all the image files from the card to a new file folder named for the subject/event/location and date.
* once all the images are safely on your computer. Insert the memory card in your camera and format the card… Now it is ready to be used again
** delete unwanted image files ONLY from the files on the computer, NEVER on the card itself Using the delete button on your camera is perhaps the most common thing that causes image file or card corruption.
Chances are, neither of you have any idea what you're doing, whatsoever. Go buy a cheap point-and-click. It'll save you guys some gray hair.
Either you or your husband deleted them. Learn to use your camera. The manual would be an excellent place to begin.
I have tried this with success, I have used this after a low level format. No guarantees, but it's free and worth a shot. YOU NEED A USB CARD READER.
Don't take anymore pictures.
Try this, Download the program http://www.recuva.com/...recuva.com?
You must not take anymore pictures on your card.
You will need a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader? Put the card in the card reader, open the recuva program, the welcome to the recuva wizard will open, click on next. Next box, choose 'pictures', click on next, next box choose 'on my media card' click next. Check 'enable deep scan' click on start. Wait, for it to do it's magic. You might have to click on specific drives. Last time I tried to recover I had to try several different ways. Instead of choosing card, choose the drive if it shows up in the recuva software.
You need to use a card reader either one already in your computer (some have one, some don't). Or buy an external USB card reader. They are around 10.00 and can be found at walmart, bestbuy, frys, probably target.
I was not able to recover photos by hooking the camera up to the pc with the usb cord, it just won't work.
This is the important part. Choose the pics you want to recover, then choose recover, a box comes up asking where you want to save to. Choose documents/my pictures or wherever you want to save your pictures too. The pictures ONLY save to your pc and not the card.
Your memory card is damaged. The pictures you are looking for are gone.
Next time, format the card every time before the day's shoot then copy all pictures to the computer after. That way, you keep all the pictures you take and keep the memory card healthy. Regular formatting is the key.
I went on a site on this topic but can't remember the name, If I'll remember I will let you know.
Why are so many of the above answers have to reply in such a condescending attitude?
these answers are just plain stupid, no help at all. Better in a case like this to just shut up.
All these answers are just plain stupid. Not helpful at all. Next time jus shup
