So, when you import pictures from your memory card into the computer, one of the options is to delete the pictures from your memory card after they have been sent to your computer. Odds are, you accidently clicked that and that's probably why. Hope that helps.

That can happen if you did not correctly "eject" the card from your computer.

All you can do is to reinsert the card into your computer, copy the images to your computer to save them, eject the card (right click the card icon, select "eject" from the drop down menu and wait for the icon to vanish). Next, re-insert the card into your camera and use the camera menu to format the card which will also wipe all images from it but will allow the camera to correctly recognise what's on the card again.

Never format the card in anything other than your camera if you want it to continue to work correctly. Never store images long term on the memory card, that's not what it's for.

From your question, it seems that you are not using the best workflow when dealing with image files on you memory card

Here is what should happen"

* At the end of each shooting day, remove the memory card and insert it into your computer's card reader
* Using your computer skills, copy all the image files to a new file folder you have named for the subject/location and date (this way you can find them years later)
* Once all the image files are safely on your computer, re-insert the memory card into your camera and use the format feature to format the memory card so it is ready for your next photographic adventure

My guess is that you are using your camera as a way to show off your good images and you are using the delete button on the camera to make more room on your card. 1) Your camera is not really an image viewer. The display button is used so you can check for exposures before moving on to your next shot. 2) Using the delete button is the number one reason for corrupted cards and image files.

So you put pictures in the memory card from the computer. The camera is not a viewing device. It will only display unmodified pictures it took. Take note that in some case, simply copying the file out then putting back in is already modification. How much more for pictures it didn't take at all?

You will get this if the card is corrupt. You'll also get this if the photos on the card were either not shot using the camera or in a folder on the card not made by the camera.

Either way, download them onto your computer. Reinsert the card back into the camera and format the card.
