Nikon and Canon brands?
Which brand of camera do you prefer and why. Nikon or canon?
I'm a model and I've noticed that when the photographers use a nikon camera they are more professional and the photo's come out alot better.
Nikon better built, d lighting for good shadow details, nice colours, great lens choice.etc
Which shoes do you buy, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Reebok, Converse, etc? Which car do you drive?
The answer is the same. It's a personal choice.
Canon makes excellent lenses. So does Nikon.
Nikon makes outstanding cameras with capabilities that you and I will never exceed. Same for Canon.
Both make entry level dslr's (Nikon D3100, Canon T3i) as well as cameras for the pros.
I prefer the Nikon for a couple of reasons. I shot Nikon 35mm slr's for years (decades?) and they never failed me. I had a vast collection of Nikon & 3rd party Nikon-mount lenses. Going to a Nikon DSLR was a no-brainer, because it allowed me to utilize all the optics I'd acquired.
I also have become accustom to, and prefer the Nikon layout. There's a consistency in their menus controls, and feel throughout the line.
That being said, if you don't have a bag (or two, or three) of lenses for either brand, then you need to do some homework. Go to a camera shop or two, and handle the different models in your price range. See how they feel, and how the controls are. Listen to, but don't automatically buy into what the salespeople advise. (Ask anyone who's been in sales - they get perks for moving certain brands) Don't choose a camera because a celebrity uses it, nor make a decision based on what friends use.
If I had to start from scratch, I would have no problem going with either system, though I'd have to learn some things over again.
Hope this helps a bit.
Neither. I'm a Pentax man through and through, just look at the original KX to see why.
Pentax K-5, best camera you can by pound for pound. Cheaper and better.
Mantle Mays, Reebok New Balance, Nikon Canon. Take your pick. Neither one better than the other. I own a Nikon DSLR. It was a toss up, but I leaned toward Nikon maybe because I I owned a Nikon SLR many years ago and it proved to be very reliable and durable.
That's like asking would you prefer Vanilla or Chocolate.
Getting more specific between cameras would be suited.
For me, I choose Nikon JUST because I've had a previous rangefinder that has a lens adaptable to my D7000.
However, my friend owns a Canon 7D because it has superior video capabilities compared to my D7000.
I love using a Nikon as much as I do with Canon's
