Nikon 1 v1 or Nikon 1 v2?
I hear there's only a price difference is that true? I know that the v1 is around 300-400 and the v2 is 700-800 is that true? It the price the only difference?
The V2 has a few advantages. First, it has a 14megapixel sensor vs. The V1's 10megapixel sensor. However, this is not a significant difference.
And the V2 has a built-in flash (the V1 requires an external flash) and a Wi-Fi adapter that the V1 does not.
Finally, the major criticism of the V1 was it's ergonomics, as many of the advanced settings - especially the PSAM dial - is buried in the menu. Consequently, the V2 improved on these things by placing some of those controls on the camera.
Otherwise, the features are about the same.
I bought a V1 last Dec for $299 during a rebate Nikon had at that time. And the $500 up-charge for the V2 just did not justify the added expense.
So in my view, if you can find a V1 under $400, it certainly does not justify purchasing the V2 regardless of the modest improvements.
