If you need a small camera with interchangeable lenses you can carry in a brief case or purse, then it is a fine camera.

If you want performance, the D3200 might be a better choice.

If you're a snapper I'd say yes. If you're a serious photographer wanting to learn digital photography then no.

This is an EVIL camera - Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lenses. What that means is that unlike film or digital slr cameras it has no view finder, only a screen much like a pocket toy. If that's all you want to do is snap then save your money and buy a pocket toy. If you're serious stay with a dslr camera because your results will be much more to your liking.

I would say instead check out for a DSLR camera such as Nikon D3100 its a smaller, lighter DSLR with good battery life and great image quality.
