I love taking photography, I currently have my LG camera that has only 16 megapixels. Over time it has got AWFUL quality, the lighting, focus, zoom, and flash. I'm looking for a Canon or Nikon just under 300$ that I can find on amazon and can trust. I'm looking for focus, zoom, and lighting is my main top three with at least 55-88 megapixels, possibly more if I could. I take portraits of cosplayers, usually I take wide and large photos, I do not care for video of the camera, just looking for a good picture camera.

Added (1). I didn't mean megapixels, I meant MM not megapixels, It was about the size of them not the number itself. I apologize for writing it wrong.

More megapixels will NOT improve the quality of your pictures.

No camera of any pixel count can magically make you a good photographer;
you have to Learn how to take good pictures.

10 to 20 MP will more than do the job.

There are NO cameras with 55 or more MP on the consumer market.

$300 will not buy a camera with more than about 20 MP.

The most important thing to know is that the camera you have should do quite well if you use it correctly.

At least 55-88 megapixels? Possibly more?

Grin.

The root of your problem stems from the fact that you think you have a camera. Here is how a 100MP (real) camera looks.

The 50MP version is much more expensive but that's another story. Here below is a sub-$300 answer to your question.

Sadly its just a mere 20MP. Awful BTW depends on the skill of the photographer. The camera is only a tool.

You should get a Canon G9X but they cost $100 more.

If not then one of the small sensor compacts like this one

An alternative is to get a used DSLR which will blow all the little cameras away image quality-wise.

For example this one and add a used 18-55mm zoom in the manufacturers lens mount to it.

The Canon m100 sells for $500 new, but you can probably find it for less used.

Look over the review and see if it isn't worth the price.
