My Nikon memory card won't show up on my Macbook Pro? OS X Mavericks?

I was doing videos on youtube maybe 2 years ago and it worked just fine and now i want to start making videos again but maybe its because i updated to OS X mavericks? So when i put the memory card in nothing comes up.

Don't wait for you Apple computer to do the work for you.

Use Finder to open the memory card (using the card reader) and then copy all the image files (still and video) to your hard drive to a new file folder named for the subject/location and date… That way you can find your videos and images years later.
