My nikon 55mm lense is acting up. It is blinking fE E in the top right hand corner
Its a brand new lens purchased in december. It worked 2 days ago and now I don't know why it won't shoot.
Make sure it is mounted securely and clicks in
Have you looked in the manual that came with your camera to see what that error message means?
FEE is "EE Servo Coupling Post", a contact point on the lens. The lens is not being able to communicate with the camera.
If you are using 55mm lens on a digital slr, lock the aperture ring at the smallest aperture (is it f-22!) and set the aperture through the camera, in case it works.
The camera is not shooting because it's not sensing the lens. Did you remove the lens before it started acting up? If you did, double check the connection between the camera body and the lens to make sure it's secure. You might need to unmount it and remount it.
If that doesn't work, try cleaning the contacts on the lens and camera body. You can do that with a foam cosmetic swab and 100% isopropyl alcohol (don't use a Q-tip, since that can leave lint behind!). If you don't have access to cosmetic swabs or 100% isopropyl alcohol, you can gently use a CLEAN pencil eraser to wipe off the contacts.
