Microphone for dSLR for concert/chorus type settings?
I have a Nikon D7000.
I had a simple point and shoot camera that I used to record videos of cousin's high school concerts. Will the Nikon ME-1 microphone be "good" for that or should I get something like the Rode Stereo VideoMic instead of this unidirectional design. I'm not very familiar with video recording and such using external microphones.
Examples of the "chorus" setting can be seen in the links provided. Please excuse the camera rattle and chatter in the beginning. I was trying to explain something to the person sitting next to me.
I recently saw a discussion here about hissing noise with a Rode mike. Whether it was the mike or the operator I don't know.
I know nothing about Nikon microphones but if they're designed for your camera then they'll probably do well.
The Rode Stereo VideoMic gets good reviews from over 100 Amazon users. I'd go with the more thoroughly reviewed mic.
