Trying to decide which lens to get?

AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G or AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D

What does the AF-S mean? What does the G mean after the 1.8? & what does the D mean after the 1.8?

D means digital G means geld
