Nikkor prime lens recommendations for video (low budget)?
Can be old or new, but I'm looking for low cost lenses, so under $400 is preferable.
I currently have the 35mm 1.8g. Oh, and this is for use on a DX camera.
How about the 50mm f1.8? It's a manual focus lens on the D3000, D3100, D3200, D5000, D5100 and D5200 (unless you buy the more expensive AF-S version), it's autofocus on every model above those.
Costs around £100.
Take a look at the end of this video. There are four lenses listed that were used in the production of this video.
You can see in this video why it is so important to shoot to a script and add light that matches the ambient lighting, but at a higher level so that shooting using high ISO's is reduced.
Since you will be manually focusing your lenses during the shooting of your video, you can buy legacy lenses to save some money.
Find a 50mm f1.4.It can be old since you will want to focus it manually anyway. It will be a slightly telephoto lens and very nice for you.
