Need to find aperture blades parts for my Nikkor damaged lens to replace

So my Nikon 18-105mm lens have fallen down and the aperture ring and blades need replacement. Nikon service is asking too much money and id rather watch 100.000 videos on youtube of lens fixing and do it myself than pay much money! What i need is the aperture part from another faulty Nikon lens that i'm gonna find at ebay to have them replace my current damaged aperture blades. I'm wondering what are the models that have the same aperture ring and blades part with Nikkor 18-105? My lens have 7 blades, so does the 18-55, but still i'm not sure if they are having the same part installed as they are different models. Any help?

You can get that lens in used excellent condition at KEH for under $200, and on Ebay I saw some selling for under $100. And while I'm not saying it would be impossible to fix it yourself, in general lens repair is best left to the experts, at least if you want a lens that functions correctly.

Sorry, but this is a highly skilled field and, much as I admire your enthusiasm, I don't think it's a "Do it Yourself" job.
You need special tools and special conditions (such as dust free, anti static) to do that sort of job.

Lens repair is NOT a "do it yourself" project unless you're a trained technician and have all the requisite tools. Just go shopping on eBay or the Used Dept. At B&H or Adorama.

Do you realize how much skill is involved in making such a repair?

The intricate parts in a lens are similar to what you find in a watch or clock - and that level of skill, like that of a clock maker, is not something you can learn watching youtube videos. Your idea of DIY repair is pie in the sky, and completely unrealistic.

If Nikon is asking too much, try an independent camera repair store in your area instead, and get a quote.

If the quote is still too much, and not worth it, then just buy a replacement lens - second hand, if you want to save money.
