I want to get this camera so i've looking and i like the look of this one on amazon.com.
I doesn't say if its new, like ebay does so i'm not sure.

and another thing if it says 'Ships from and sold by Amazon.com', does it make it more reliable?

Its new. 'Ships from and sold by Amazon.com' means Amazon is the retailer and responsible for the delivery.

If it's sold directly by Amazon.com, it's brand new - and yes it is very reliable. Just keep the original packing and sales receipt safe and if you experience any problems, contact amazon customer support immediately. I bought a Kindle 3 two months ago - On Friday it wouldn't work. I rang customer support at 5pm Friday; 10 am saturday morning, my replacement kindle was in my hand!

Amazon should put the word NEW next to the product.

There's a quick way to see the status of any product sold on Amazon.

On the right side of the screen there's a box that says "More Buying Choices"

and then on the bottom of that box there will be a link to:

2 NEW (this means two vendors are selling this product NEW. There are NO used ones.) or

5 Used and New (5 people are selling it. Some are New and some are used). After you click on it Amazon will break out the new and used product so that you can easily see which ones are new.
