How long in inches is this lens?

Nikkor 18/55mm 3.5-5.6g nikon d6 i'm not exactly sure if that's the correct information, maybe some of you can help me out? --- sorry but i was in a hurry and our call kept breaking up. However i need to know because my boyfriend is going to the cowboys stadium and they don't allow cameras with lens of 3 inches or more.

It's a little academic for a couple of reasons.

First, event security are not known for their, er, intelligence! So if a camera looks the business it's likely to fall foul of what the security think is allowed.

Even if you do get such a lens into the event, it's zoom is insufficient to capture any great images, and the odds are your boyfriend will be in the wrong position anyway.

My advice would be to go and enjoy the game - forget taking the camera!

*Nothing personal, but I tend to find if I'm not in the position to be able to get any good photographs then I'd rather not be lugging around cameras, least wise not a DSLR/ILC.

3" is ~75mm (1"=25.4mm) and you probably need some 300mm to capture action.
