I wouldn't ever even consider using a lens that requires an adapter, as adapters have numerous grave disadvantages.

E.g.loss of autofocus, loss of metering, loss of the capability of focusing to infinity, loss of a stop or more worth of light.

For video applications this might be even more serious, as the loss of metering becomes an even bigger problem in the dynamic light situations of a video. Setting the exposure by trail and error is not possible there. Then again, perhaps the metering mechanism for videos works totally different and does not require communication with the lens. But that's just a hypothesis.

In short, buy a Canon lens and don't bother with anything that requires an adapter.

The better lens is the one that fits and gives full functionality.

If you can't grasp that, you're beyond human aid.
