Can we use af-s nikkor lens 28-85 with fm10?

My Nikkor AF 24-85 mm lens will work with it because it includes the same lens indexing as the old Nikkor AI manual focus lenses have.

Note: Are you sure that the 28-85 mm lens is really a AF-S lens, not an AF Nikkor lens?
