Are my nikon F55 lenses compatible with nikon digital Camera's?
I have a Nikon F55 35mm SLR and I was wondering if my lenses are compatible with Nikon digital SLR's? I have an AF NIKKOR 28-100mm and an AF NIKKOR 70-300mm. Just wondered if its possible to upgrade to digital by just buying a digital camera body.
Yes and no.
If you buy a Nikon dSLR, like a D80 or better, yes This means cameras like the D100, D90, D200, D7000 and D300 can use those lenses in the fully auto-focus mode.
Entry level cameras like the D40, D60, D3000, D3100, D5000 and D5100 those AF lenses must be manually focused using the electronic rangefinders in those cameras. Only AF-I and AF-S can auto-focus with entry level Nikon dSLR's
