Is the Nikon 1 a good camera?

Is it good or what other good cameras do you recommend?

It is a great camera for what it is, a compact, fully adjustable camera which uses interchangeable lenses.

It is a new format, so yet to be tested by photographers over a year or two.

I guess you can research them until you know what they are and what they are not before buying. That is what I would do.
