Is it possible for me to set up my camera as my laptops webcam?
I have a Mac OS X snow leopard and a Nikon 1. I want to connect my Nikon 1 to my Mac, and use it as though it is a webcam, and film, so i can see what is being filmed on my mac screen, as it would be on the screen on the nikon, if you get what i mean. I want it so i can film tutorials for youtube and look at what i'm filming through my laptop.
Is it possible to do this? If so how? Do i need any sort of software or something.
I'd imagine so
The camera will have to be able to do that- be able to use as a webcam. Plus you will need drivers or software that is compatible with your computer and camera.
Probably not. But what's the point? You can transfer files from the digital camera to the computer. And webcams right now are as low as $5 on Amazon.
Yes, but you need to check the camera documents to see if it has this capability. If your camera has video capability, then it probably will work. My small HP camera will work as a web cam because it does videos beside pictures.
