Is a digital camera or a camera with film better?
I'm the photographer at my high school and my teacher wants me to get more used to using other cameras. For christmas i want a camera but am stumped on what kind. I don't really know much about different types but i have a Nikon digital camera right now. I always wanted a film camera, i have herd they take more clear photos and are better looking, and i'm in love with taking photos. So what is better? Digital or film? And what kind should i get? I'm stumped and don't know what to do.
I really like DSLRs
A digital camera is more versatile and a lot cheaper to shoot in the long run.
They are exactly the same. Only the media used are different. Film captures better but picture quality is difficult to preserve during reproduction. Digital can preserve the quality of the original even with countless reproductions. Digital also provides faster results for quick corrections if needed. Using film however brings out the very best in any photographer.
Both have their uses, and using a film camera might take you back to basics and make you think. But in general you csan experiment more freely with digital since trials cost nothing. The main thing is to get a good digicam, so that's really a DSLR, not a mini domestic digicam.
