Is 16gb enough for dslr video?
On average how many minutes of HD video can i record with 16 gb on a dslr camera. Specifically a nikon d5200 in a well lit area.
Considering the largest file a dSLR can record is 4 GB, it is plenty big enough. Get a couple of spare cards for when you need more. In terms of time, the longest you can record at any event is 30 minutes which is also less than 16 GB even at HD. So your card should be good for anything you plan to do.
While I agree with lare, when the camera automatically shuts down at 29 minutes and 59 seconds (it is in the manual), there's nothing preventing you from pressing record again for another 29 minutes and 59 seconds. Unless, of course, the dSLR has shut down due to overheating…

overheating auto-shutdown: page 52.
Whether the scene is well lit or not has little to do with memory requirements. Though if you were expecting to use the flash for still image lighting while capturing video, that won't happen (also on page 52). For video, you will want to use a video light not a flash.
hi. Bross.
Thank you very much for the invitation. Best wishes. PS: How are you? I am from France.
