I used a new faster card in my older digital Nikon. Now I can?

I get a message each time that I can't use this card… Even the old speed, but I can view older cards with pics on them.

Sounds like your nikon does not support a newer faster card. It tells you in the manual what card your camera can use.

How old? About 2006 or earlier it could be SD (up to 2GB), not SDHC.
